Migraines are neurological conditions that are characterized by headaches, possible nausea and changes in perception. If migraines are viewed form the angle of physiology the condition is more common to women then men. Migraines are known to last form 4 to 72 hours and may differ in severity. By the severity they can be defined in 3 initial groups:
- Migraines with mild pain syndrome – which does not interfere with usual activity
- Migraines with moderate pain syndrome – which makes the usual activity harder but does not completely stop it
- Migraines with severe pain syndrome – which prevents all usual activity.
First hand treatment of the dysfunction is with analgesics for the headache and if nausea manifests anti-emetics.
